Yoga Review

Over 10 years ago, I started to do yoga due to health problem. It did help me get over with years of acing pain around shoulders, neck and back. Later on with inappropriate use of the limbs and the body during practice and strong mind in pursuit of harder poses, I got some sport injury. Furthermore, with constant holding of my breath doing back bending, it caused my brain lack of oxygen and made me yawned during practice. And I always couldn’t wait till shavasana (relaxation) to fall asleep. I quit yoga.

I first tried Power Yoga seven years ago. With its fluidity of poses, it attracted my attention and interest to yoga again. In order to know the asanas better, I decided to take the yoga teacher training course held by Bodhi Yoga. Till then did I understand that there were not only the asanas in yoga but more.

Now the daily prananyama (breathing) practice has become part of my life. As for asana, I do mainly Ashtanga yoga Mysore style practice. With each breath to conduct my move with my own pace and rhythm, I slowly overcome my obstacles and fear. I pay attention to my own body and try to communicate with it. All the negative thoughts were released bit by bit. There is always a kind of sweetness after practice, which charms me and many others. I would like you to invite you to try this wonderful experience.

When I teach yoga, I emphasize on proper breathing and core strength. As for asanas, students can learn from all the basics with the aid of tools. Based on the condition of each person, they will be given different practice. I respect each individual. With only safe and proper learning, will each person relax themselves. After the foundation is built, can one challenge themselves to higher level.

I encourage you to try to find a kind of exercise that suits you best and pamper yourself. Why not make yoga your loyal friend?
