Yoga Review

Christina used to be a gym bunny, and it wasn’t until her early 40s that she took her first yoga class. When taking her regular spinning class, she would observe other gym members taking a yoga class and she vowed that she would never force her body to do anything so awkward. She broke that vow when a friend invited her to take a yoga class with her. For Christina, that class was the beginning of her yogic journey but, funnily enough, Christina’s friend didn’t continue her own practice.

Christina specializes in Prenatal Yoga (she also takes Ashtanga and Gentle classes), and continues to be amazed at how beneficial Prenatal Yoga is for mothers-to-be, both mentally and physically. Christina has seen firsthand how a regular Prenatal Yoga practice prevents, or at least alleviates, prenatal and postnatal blues. Christina’s prenatal teaching also extends off the mat, because her students often phone her with their pregnancy questions and even as they are on their way to hospital to give birth!
